Both tools make JSON easier to explore. JSON Hero emphasises a polished web viewer, schema inference and shareable documents; Blobster emphasises a local browser workbench, editing, redaction and multiple developer formats.
JSONLint is a focused browser validator and formatter with repair and schema tools. Blobster is a broader local workbench for inspecting, editing, searching and copying structured developer data.
jwt.io decodes, verifies and generates JSON Web Tokens and explains registered claims. Blobster decodes a token inside a browser extension with no account or analytics, next to the rest of your debugging data, but it does not verify signatures. Use jwt.io to check a signature or build a test token. Use Blobster to read a live token you would rather not paste into a website.
JSON Crack draws JSON, YAML, CSV and XML as an interactive graph you can export as an image, and adds converters, type generation and schema tools. Blobster opens developer data in tree, table and raw views for search, edits, path copy and redacted copy. Pick JSON Crack to understand a structure at a glance. Pick Blobster to work through a large or sensitive document.
CyberChef is GCHQ’s open-source toolkit for encoding, decoding and transforming data by chaining operations into recipes, and it runs entirely in the browser. Blobster is a local viewer and editor for structured developer files. Use CyberChef to unpick an encoded blob. Use Blobster to read, search, edit and redact a JSON response, log, HAR capture or config.
jsonformatter.org is a free online formatter and validator with tree and graph views and converters between JSON, XML, YAML and CSV, and it validates JSON in the browser. It also has a Save Online feature whose links are public unless you log in, and its privacy policy warns against saving sensitive data. Blobster has no save or share feature.
